Iontophoresis

Iontophoresis began in 1908 as an effective tool to transport drugs in solution across intact skin. It is based on the ·principle that an electrical potential will cause ions in solution to migrate according to their electrical charges.

INDICATIONS

This treatment is an alternate to a hypodermic injection for a short term acute bursitis, epicondylitis, and acute non-specific tenosynovitis, or to avoid pain that may accompany needle insertion.
